ACCESSIBLE ACTIVITIES FOR CLIMATE ACTION

EARTHSHOT RANGERS

Get Involved

Take part in Earthshot Rangers’ very first pilot programme in Portsmouth, supported by Coastal Partners. Based around our 3 core environmental principles - Explore, Protect, Restore - we’ve developed a series of activities that will get you engaged in nature, enjoying spending time outdoors and learning what can and must be done to help our natural ecosystems to thrive. The information you gather during these activities will be used to support some amazing science and research projects benefiting people and the planet!

Choose Your Mode

  • Explorers take part in fun accessible activities and games, including nature walks, animal spotting, arts and craft with natural materials, photo challenges and more. Explore and enjoy the beautiful natural landscapes around Portsmouth.

  • Restorers can contribute to national restoration projects like planting seaweed and grasses to restore sand dunes and habitats to promote biodiversity. You could collect litter, clear waterways or build a bug hotel, helping restore natural spaces for wildlife.

  • Protectors keep natural habitats safe from harm by learning about what they need and how to keep them safe. From supporting coastal-protection efforts and learning what measures are being taken, to recognising different animal homes and habitats and how they can be protected.

How it Works

1. Choose one of the activities below and download the relevant resources and instructions to help you, these may include maps, templates and questions.

2. Enjoy completing the activity, recording what you see, hear and find by taking photos, checking off lists or making notes as per the activity instructions.

3. Send your notes and pictures to our team at earthshotrangers@gmail.com along with your name and a postal address so you can receive your certificate.
